Located within the Torres del Paine National Park, Lake Sarmiento is the largest in this nature reserve and is bordered to the east by Estancia Cerro Guido. This hike takes place near the base of Sierra del Toro, from where we descend slowly through the steppe until we reach the lake’s southeast shore, where we will have a great panoramic view of the Paine Massif. There, we will be able to appreciate the thrombolites; calcium carbonate deposits that are typical of Lake Sarmiento, and then return by a short and slightly steep climbing way.
