Full Day Torres del Paine is one of the favorite excursions of our guests who want to visit Torres del Paine National Park. It is a very complete journey where there is the possibility of wildlife sightings in the wonderful landscapes that surround you all the way.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>It was 7 am when my alarm clock rang. I had to get a good breakfast in the restaurant because the guides told us that the Full Day Paine excursion is one of the most extensive. Its name says it, it is a full day.<\/p>\n

As soon as I finished my coffee, I went out to meet the guides who were waiting for the whole group in the Sprinter, a van used for excursions that include a larger number of people. I checked my camera’s battery charge one last time and hopped in. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to capture as many photos as possible.<\/p>\n

We set off on our way and as soon as we entered the road we met a local gaucho who was moving a herd of horses to his fields. A timely encounter that gave us a little warning of the beautiful scenery that awaited us.<\/p>\n

Grey Lake<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the great attractions of this excursion is the arrival at Grey Lake. It was certainly one of the landscapes I was looking forward to visiting. Seeing the glacier and feeling the strong wind blowing all along the beach.<\/p>\n

Arriving at the entrance, the group split up and some prefer to stay and wait for our return. Logically, not everyone has the guts or the physical ability for a hike with the wind hitting their faces. It is a significant physical effort, but not impossible to make.<\/p>\n

The guide warns us that we must be prepared to go through a gust of wind to reach the other end of the beach to see the famous Grey Glacier.<\/p>\n

It was true. As soon as we took the first step on the gray beach, a strong gust of wind that reached 100 km\/h hit our faces. It is so powerful that it manages to destabilize us, however, almost instinctively, we managed to avoid it.<\/p>\n

We start walking and notice that we are walking upright. The gust of wind is so strong that we must “hold on” to its strength in order not to fall.<\/p>\n

The walk is not so long, about 2 kilometers to reach the other end and be able to see the glacier. However, walking against the force of nature makes the process a real exercise.<\/p>\n

I feel my nose and mouth start to dry out from the cold breeze, but it doesn’t stop me and finally, I reach the end of the trail. I manage to take the picture and we start our way back.<\/p>\n

On the way back to the hotel, it is impossible for me not to close my eyes for a few minutes. The ride was exhausting, but it was worth it. In spite of the fatigue, I am proud of myself because I was able to overcome the strong wind to admire a marvel of nature.<\/p>\n
